Dear Parents,
I hope this email finds each of you doing well and enjoying the beautiful weather with your children. I am sending this email to welcome all of our families to the 2020-2021 school year. This year will be very different compared to other years. Certainly, we know that there are challenges ahead of us as we reopen our schools. Last month, you received the Responsible Restart Plan for Kenston Schools. In that plan, each building outlined the steps being taken to provide a safe environment for students and staff. I would like to share with you, highlights, through the following slide deck:

I also know that some of our families have made the decision to have their child enrolled for the virtual classroom, led by Kenston teachers. It is our commitment that every student, whether in school or at home, is a Timmons student! We will communicate with all of our students and families while building a strong partnership between school and home.
I would like to bring your attention to a few important dates on the horizon. A separate communication will be sent in the coming week addressing each event.
New to District Building Visit – August 25th 4:00-7:00 (30 minute appointments)
This event is for families (grades 1-3) who are brand new to Kenston and Timmons Elementary. A separate email will be sent with an appointment based sign up.
Virtual Meet the Teacher- A video introduction of our teachers will be posted to our website by August 28th. Additionally, your child’s teacher will reach out to their students prior to the first day of school.
Kindergarten Orientation- August 31, September 1, and September 2
On Monday, August 31st, a 20-minute parent and child appointment will be scheduled with your child’s teacher at Timmons. This will provide a safe and comforting transition for your child as they see their school for the first time. On September 1st and 2nd, the class roster will be divided in half and your child will attend only one of those two days. All students will begin attending on September 3rd. A separate email will be sent in the coming week, outlining these three days.
In closing, I want to thank all of our families for their patience and understanding. Our faculty is excited to see our students and we are ready to begin our journey this year.
