The five seniors on the Kenston swim and dive team were honored on Jan. 29 during a meet against Solon at John Carroll University.

The team honored swimmers Joe Drsek, Jason Fronczek, and Nick Korenowski as well as divers Alex Bayus and Clay Foster.

“I have really enjoyed watching these five continue to improve over the years to where they are today and hope the best for them,” said Coach Kari Collier.

Drsek and Korenowski are past district qualifiers and Bayus and Foster have both competed at the state meet.

Drsek and Korenowski medaled in multiple events at this season’s WRC meet while Bayus finished second in the conference in diving.

All five seniors have competed on the varsity team for all four years of high school.

“I was pleased with my improvement over these four years and hope to improve more in what’s left of the season,” said Drsek, who is planning to continue his swimming career at Mount Union University.

The seniors have one last meet at Orange High School before the end of their final regular season on the team.

Sectionals for swimmers is at SPIRE on Feb. 11 while both senior divers have already pre-qualified for districts and will dive on Feb. 16 at Cleveland State University.▮
