Raised and Glazed is Now The Mad Batter

Raised and Glazed Donuts has a new name and some new bakery items, but still offers their signature donuts.

Now known as The Mad Batter Bake Shoppe, the previous owner, Jodi Schaef, handed down the shop to her daughter, Heather Harris, who has worked at the shop since it opened seventeen years ago.

Harris renamed the shop to represent the full menu, considering Raised and Glazed only referred to their donuts.

The new name also reflects the shop’s cakes, which Harris wants to highlight.

“No one does the cakes but me, and I felt like that needed a little more attention,” said Harris.

Since there are more bakery items, people have more options for what they can buy, especially with the custom cakes, cupcakes, muffins, and cookies.

Schaef originally opened the business with her neighbor. Not knowing if it would become popular, Harris took the chance and became their baker, which she still remains as today.

“And then it just kind of took off,” explains Harris, “we didn’t know how popular we’d be.”▮
