Bomber Media Reflection: Braden Hunt

Braden Hunt

Courses: Digital Media & Communication, Multimedia Journalism, Multimedia Journalism II, Advanced Media

Over the past two school years, Braden Hunt has pretty much lived in The Hub (the KHS library and innovation center). Not only did he take every media class offered and co-host a podcast with the school principal, he also took multiple courses working with Mr. Malkus to hone his design skills. This time has allowed him to find his passion, but more importantly, he has also found the drive and the work ethic to make sure his plans become reality. Students are now signing up for media classes because they want to “make stuff like Braden did,”  which shows what a big impact he had on the program.

Below is his reflection on his involvement with Bomber Media as well as some of his best work.

As a whole, the Bomber Media courses have been the most impactful class selection in my life. The classes have shown me what I want to do for a living and taught me a love for editing and news in general. The classes have provided me with great opportunities to explore sports videography and photography as a job and I have fallen in love with what I learned.

From Bomber Media and other design classes taken in The Hub, I have learned nearly the whole Adobe Creative Cloud suite. As well as learning the Adobe suite, through Bomber Media, I have learned what a news organization works like with social media posts and the importance of timing in news. Truly, I would say most importantly though I learned where my passions are for the rest of my life: media.

KHS Senior Art Students Start Business

In all the multimedia classes, I would say I’m most proud of the senior video for commencement. The video was a lot of work, but I really enjoyed exploring different ways to present the video in a more exciting and creative format than past years. The video is a great example of some of the advanced editing skills I have learned and my general storytelling skills.

Personally, I don’t think there is a class that could have been more impactful than the media classes I have taken in The Hub. Never did I envision wanting to work in media for a living until sophomore Braden met Mr. Novak and from there it was history. The media classes have set me up perfectly to transition after high school where I will be attending Appalachian State University.

Bomber Football Defeats Chagrin 35-0

At ASU, I will be studying electronic media and broadcast with a double major in graphic design as well as working for the App State football media team as a creative videographer. I’m extremely excited to represent Bomber Media/Kenston after high school and display the skills I have learned from my mentors in the district to the world. Appalachian State football media is a dream opportunity with extremely talented coworkers and I can only thank Bomber Media for supplying me with the skills to be hired.▮
