Hard work pays off and the KHS gymnastics team is proof.

The team came in third place at the 2022 OHSAA Gymnastics State Championships and were only 0.3 points away from being state runner-ups for a second year in a row

Not only did the team come in third place this year, but junior Mary Cowan placed second in the all-around in the individual competition.

“I’m so grateful to have gone to states with the whole team this year. It brought the team closer together and it was so nice to have everyone’s support. I’m so proud of everything this team accomplished,” said Cowan.

Presley Gabram became a four-time state qualifier and finished in the top ten for the vault earning All-Ohio recognition for the third year in a row.

“This past weekend was so much fun and having the whole team there to support us meant so much. State meet is an experience I will never forget and I am forever grateful that I was able to qualify all four years of high school,” said Gabram.

This year’s state competitions were held in Columbus, but thanks to the team’s sponsors—including Eclipse Co., Augie’s, Breezewood, Ganley Chevy Aurora, and Sirna’s Pizza—the girls were able to ride a Precious Cargo bus down and back.▮
