Although their formation was spontaneous, Coriander, a band comprised of five Kenston seniors, put in the time and effort to make their debut performance at the 2022 Bomber Bash.

Members include Cayla DiBernardo as lead singer, Daniel Eibler on lead guitar, Elliot Bargiel on drums, Nick Lai on the keys, and Will Rottman on bass.

“[They] sounded good. [They] sounded nothing like a high school band,” said Jackson Drozdowski, a student and participant of Bomber Bash.

Coriander performed Justin Timberlake’s “Rock Your Body,” “Kiss Me” by Sixpence None the Richer, “Come and Get Your Love” by Redbone, “Funky Town” by Lipps Inc., “Day Tripper” by The Beatles, and ended with the Carrie Underwood song, “Before He Cheats.”

The band struggled to find time to practice, as most of the members have jobs or were busy with academics or sports.

“We were only able to practice all together twice and once in the gym. I was really blown away by how loud the crowd was and the support we had,” said Lai.

As Bomber Bash continued to get closer, the band struggled with the development of a good name until Coriander was suggested by Bargiel’s father.

Given the band was formed specifically for Bomber Bash, as of now the group has no upcoming events nor much direction as to what the future entails.
