KHS 11th Grade SAT & Remote Learning Day – March 3

All junior students will be taking the state mandated SAT exam on Wednesday, March 3 at Kenston High School. Due to the COVID-19 restrictions, testing will take place in different locations within the building. Because of the logistics of safe testing, students in 9th, 10th, and 12th grade will transition to remote learning on this testing day. Teachers will virtually connect with students at home for lesson expectations. The remote learning bell schedule, linked here, will be utilized on this day.
Important Test Day Information:
  • All junior students will report to school by 7:45am. School transportation is available. Details on actual testing locations will be communicated with junior students on Monday, March 1 via school email account.
  • Students should bring with them: Photo ID (school ID is fine); several sharpened #2 pencils, calculator, extra batteries, and a water bottle for breaks.
  • Students should leave their devices and any other materials in their lockers or at home on testing day.
  • Once testing has concluded and all SAT materials are collected, students will be dismissed to go home between 12:00-12:30pm. 11th graders will be excused from “remote”4th block classes due to the rigor and length of the SAT.
  • Those students who do not have transportation on this day will remain in the cafeteria for lunch throughout the rest 0f the day.
Test Preparation Information:
  • Students can prepare for the SAT by visiting the College Board website. Students can also take free practice tests at Khan Academy.
  • All students who took the PSAT can upload their scores directly to Khan Academy for personalized SAT practice help and tailored testing strategies.
  • 10 hours of dedicated SAT practice with Khan Academy has been known to raise SAT test scores by 20-80 points.
It is important for students to come to school prepared to take this exam. A healthy breakfast and good night of sleep can be beneficial to all students! Thank you, in advance, for your continued support and cooperation with state testing mandates.
