UPDATE: Voice Message from Mr. Sayers

Good Afternoon. This is Kenston Superintendent Steve Sayers calling to keep you apprised of developments regarding the burst water pipes at Kenston Intermediate School.

Fourth and fifth grade students will return to school next Monday, January 9 with 4th graders at Timmons and 5th graders at Kenston Middle School. KIS principal Ms. Julianne Walker shared details of our return plans with parents earlier today. They are posted on the district website if you are interested in seeing them. Plans will continue to evolve to meet the needs of our students and staff.

Progress is moving forward on this project. The abatement is complete, we are doing air testing and continuing the drying process. We are committed to ensuring a safe learning environment and will have testing done and certified by an independent Industrial Hygienist before returning students and staff and to their classrooms.

This week, I have witnessed the Kenston motto, Bombers Fly Together, in full force. Thank you to each and every one of you who has stepped up and pitched in to help return KIS students to campus.

I wish everyone a wonderful weekend, and we look forward to all students returning to school on Monday.

Thank you and Go Bombers!
