| Teachers at Kenston Schools play a vital role in the daily success of their students. When a teacher is absent, we rely on substitute teachers to help keep the learning continuum going. We are currently looking for substitute teachers for all grade levels Kindergarten through 12th grade. We ask that you share this with anyone you know that might be interested in being a substitute teacher.
Kenston Schools works with the Educational Service Center of the Western Reserve to facilitate the substitute teacher process. Steps to become a Substitute:
1. Apply by completing the New Substitute Application
(Please note: If you have not been a substitute for the ESC of the Western Reserve in the past 12 months you are considered a new applicant.)
2. Print and complete the following required documents

3. Complete both FBI and BCI Background Checks.
Please be advised that our background check services are by APPOINTMENT ONLY at the ESC-WR, call 440-350-2563 x 788.
Payments Accepted: Cash (exact amount), check/money order, or credit card
- BCI only $35
- FBI only $40
- BCI and FBI both $70
You must bring a VALID form of ID – Expired ID will not be accepted
Your social security number is required to process the background check.
