Rotary Senior – December 2022

Madeline Ramsey is the December Rotary Student of the Month.  She maintains a 4.392 grade point average and excels in academics, Cross Country, and volunteers in the community.   She has earned AP Scholar with Honors and will receive the President’s Award for Educational Excellence for the fourth year for having over 250 community service hours and outstanding grades.  She has earned Academic Awards in Algebra, Geometry, and Modern Conflicts earning a Varsity Academic letter.  Madeline is a four-year letter winner on the Girls’ Cross Country team that recently placed second at the State Meeting in Division II.

Madeline is active in a variety of extracurricular activities, holding leadership positions as president of the Giving Garden Club and secretary of the Envirothon Club.  She has enjoyed being a member of the Sign Language Club and French Club to enrich her world.  As a member of National Honor Society,  she implemented a herbal sensory garden as her community project.

She shares her love of gardening and the outdoors with classmates and students as she is working to install a butterfly garden as an extension of the Giving Garden.  Recently, on America Recycles Day, she worked with classmates to provide activities for elementary students.  

Outside of school, Madeline works as an associate at Morning Song Garden, a natural skin care product business.  This winter, she will be working at Alpine Valley as a ski instructor.  She is an active member of Holy Angels and enjoys singing in the choir, volunteering as a cantor, playing on the softball team, and as part of the Girl’s Fiat Group.  

Madeline has been a Girl Scout since kindergarten and achieved her Gold Award by building a composting bin and implementing a composting program for the high school kitchen that is staffed by volunteers.  She has also had the chance to travel to Switzerland and Italy with the Northeast Ohio Girl Scout Travel Troop.

Madeline plans to attend Franciscan University of Steubenville.  She aspires to study philosophy, theology, and catechetics.
