KIS Principal hired

The Kenston Board of Education approved Ms. Julianne Walker’s administrative contract at the June 13th Special Meeting.  Ms. Walker begins her duties as Kenston Intermediate School principal on August 1st, and we are excited to welcome her to the district, she brings new experiences and knowledge to our team.

Ms. Walker joins the district after serving as the Assistant Principal at Twinsburg City School Dodge Intermediate School since 2017. During the 2020/21 school year, she was the lead administrator for 1st grade at Wilcox Primary School. Her career began as a Title 1 and classroom teacher at St. Pius X School. She then served as an instructional coach, 3rd and 4th grade classroom teacher at Bedford City Schools Carylwood Intermediate School, where she was recognized as a Bedford City Schools Teacher of the Year and Carylwood Intermediate School PTA Teacher of the Year. She also taught 6th grade in the Maple Heights School District. Outside the classroom, Julianne has worked as a Data and Instructional Coach. She earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in elementary education from Kent State University and another master’s degree from Baldwin-Wallace College in elementary education with principal’s certification. Julianne has also been recognized as a Martha Holden Jennings Scholar.
