Superintendent Search Update – To appoint interim

Dear Kenston Community,

At the Tuesday, June 28, Board of Education Special Meeting, the board met to interview and discuss the search process for a new superintendent.  At the conclusion of this meeting, the board opted to suspend the search process and will appoint an interim superintendent.

We are committed to finding the best person to lead the district and will begin a new search in 2023 to identify and hire the next Superintendent of Kenston Schools.

This process began on April 21 when the Ohio School Boards Association (OSBA) was hired to conduct the superintendent search.  The initial timeline to find a new superintendent was approximately six weeks which was subsequently extended. After completing reference checks on June 28, the community and staff participated in a Meet the Superintendent finalist session during which questions from each stakeholder group were asked and answered as facilitated by OSBA. In addition, the treasurer, assistant superintendent, and multiple building administrators and directors participated in a separate question and answer session with the candidate.

The Board appreciates the community and staff’s continued support as we navigate this process. We are looking forward to a very successful 2022-2023 school year.

Sincerely,

Kenston Board of Education
