OHIO’S STATE TESTS

April 16, 2021
Dear Kenston Intermediate School Families,
Starting next week students will be taking Ohio’s State Tests. Please see the schedule below for the specific dates of each of the tests for 4th and 5th graders.
Ohio’s State Tests are computer based tests that will measure your child’s academic achievement in the areas of Reading and Math. Fifth graders will also be assessed in the area of Science.
Since Ohio’s State Tests are computer based it is important for your child to have their Chromebook fully charged prior to testing each day. Please be sure to have your child charge their Chromebook the night before and bring it to school each day of testing.
Students will be able to use headphones to access the text to speech features on the Math and Science tests. Please be sure that your child has headphones that plug into their Chromebook at school for those test days.
A few other important reminders to review with your child include the following:
The Night Before
Charge Chromebook
Go to bed early or on time
Make sure your headphones are packed or at school
In the Morning
Eat a Health Breakfast
Pack Chromebook
Arrive to school on time
During the Test
Stay Positive
Follow Directions
Do Your Best
Thank you for helping your child be well prepared to show what they know on the upcoming tests.
Sincerely,
Matt Watts
Principal
