College Credit Plus

Overview

College Credit Plus is a program that has been established to permit eligible students in grades 7-12 to earn college credits through the successful completion of college courses at no cost to parents. These college courses also count as high school graduation credits for students.

CCP is entirely voluntary and students are not required to participate under any circumstances. Students who choose to participate in CCP coursework are responsible to meet all program requirements, responsibilities, and ultimately the course(s) outcome.

Required Forms

Prospective and returning CCP students, along with their parent(s) or guardian(s), must file the following forms annually with the Kenston High School Guidance Office.

The forms must be submitted by April 1 to maintain eligibility for Option B (state-funded) participation in the upcoming summer*, fall, and/or spring semesters - or by November 1 for the spring semester ONLY. (*Reminder: Summer term is the first term of the upcoming school year.)

State-Required Forms

Intent to Participate Form – This form needs to be completed by prospective and returning CCP students & parents. This form acknowledges students' interest in the program and helps guide budget planning. This is not a commitment. Without this form, students will have to pay for the course, books, and any associated fees on their own.

This form will be available starting one week after our Annual CCP Information Session and will remain accessible until November 1 each year.

Counseling Session Form - This form ensures that students and parents receive essential information about program eligibility, credit transfer, financial responsibilities, and the potential academic and social impacts before participating in the CCP program.

Kenston Required Forms

Textbook Policy Form - This form ensures that students and parents understand the district's process for obtaining, returning, and potentially purchasing textbooks required for college courses, in accordance with state legislation. Students must submit a textbook list to the Hub, return all textbooks after completing courses, and may be charged for unreturned or improperly handled materials.

Add/Drop Notification Policy Form - This form ensures that students notify their school counselor of any changes to their CCP schedule. This helps maintain accurate records, ensures proper academic planning, and prevents potential academic or financial consequences from unapproved schedule changes.
