Over the upcoming Memorial Day weekend (Thursday, May 23 – Monday, May 27) the Chagrin Valley will once again play host to the Blossom Time Festival. Celebrating its 63rd year, the festival will be bigger and better than ever. Beginning with the Hot Air Balloon Glow and the opening of the Carnival, Thursday is the un-official beginning of summer in the Chagrin Valley.
This year, the carnival will have an entirely new midway with exciting amusement rides, carnival food and plenty of games and vendors to choose from. After twenty plus years, a new carnival company is taking over the midway. Larger and more spectacular rides will be everywhere.
Besides the carnival, which is open daily Thursday thru Sunday, there is the Taste of Chagrin, Hot Air Balloon races and the annual Blossom Time Run on Sunday morning. The whole weekend is capped off with the Blossom Time Parade Sunday at 2:00 pm. This year’s Grand Marshall will be your own State Champion Kenston Football Bombers!
On Monday, there is a small parade through Chagrin that winds its way up to Evergreen Cemetery on S. Franklin Street, This solemn parade and ceremony at the Civil War Monument begins at 10:00 am and truly is a special event honoring the sacrifices of the veterans who fought for our freedom.
Celebrate Memorial Day Weekend with the entire Chagrin Valley by heading down to the 63rd annual Blossom Time Festival presented by the Chagrin Valley Jaycees!
