Just a reminder: Students who will be taking CP, Honors or AP English, AP US History, AP American Government and/or Advanced Biology next semester have reading assignments that will be due the first day of class. The lists are the exact same lists as “Summer Reading,” and they are posted on our website. Please be prepared the first day of class.
Final Exam Schedule:
Students will be expected to arrive to school by 7:45 AM each day and they must remain in school until the conclusion of their second exam. Students will be permitted to leave school following their second exam at 12:15 PM. For those students who choose to remain at school until regular dismissal at 2:15 PM, lunch will be served, followed by teacher-led reviews and make-up sessions. Regular transportation will be provided on both days at usual times.

INTERACT IS COLLECTING new and gently used hats, coats, scarves and mittens of all sizes for families that have been displaced by the tragedies in Houston and Puerto Rico and have relocated to Cleveland. We will be distributing donations to families through Marion Elementary School and Bridgeway shelter.

Bowling Green State University hosts the Young Women in Business Leadership Camp June 24-28 for current junior female students. Personal growth and leadership is the focus of the camp. The cost is $150, with additional costs covered by participants in our Women in Leadership conference. The application deadline is December 31, 2017, and attendance is limited to 50 participants. ATTENTION JUNIORS AND SENIORS. The Geauga Growth Partnership Summer Paid Internship program applications are available in Guidance. A variety of employers in Geauga County participate ranging from manufacturing to retail to non-profit. You must be 17 years old by June 1, 2018, have a 2.0 GPA in core courses, be passing in all courses taken this year, and have a 95% attendance record for the past two years.
Any interested students must attend the open house at Kent Geauga on Jan. 22. (The participating businesses are not available at this time) Complete applications are due Feb. 9, 2018.

The FBI Cleveland Field Office invites high school students to be part of the summer hands-on training academy, “Future Agents in Training” to be held June 19-22, 2018. Hiram College Center for Literature and Medicine offers a Graphic Medicine Competition FOR ALL AGES to submit a graphic medicine narrative, a story that addresses experiences of illness, caregiving, healthcare, and embodiment through illustration. If you have (or will have) your pictures taken at Venditti Studios in Bedford (440-232-7575), New Direction or Palmieri Studios by January 1, 2018, they will automatically send the pictures to our yearbook. All Seniors who plan to have their senior pictures taken elsewhere, or not at all, and those who have not had their pictures taken to date, should plan to take advantage of the FREE session for Senior Pictures for the Yearbook on Tuesday, Oct 10th Venditti Photography will be here to take a complimentary, professional picture—sorry, you cannot purchase this picture, it is for the yearbook only. If you can’t make it on Oct 10th, you can call Venditti to set up a time to visit the studio in Bedford and get your portrait taken in their Bedford office. There will be a sitting fee of $25.00.
