What causes the aurora?

When charged particles from the sun strike atoms in Earth’s atmosphere, they cause electrons in the atoms to move to a higher-energy state. When the electrons drop back to a lower energy state, they release a photon: light. This process creates the beautiful aurora, or northern lights.

What percentage of our brain do we use?
The popularly and widely spread belief that we only use or have access to 10 percent of our brain’s power is often used to speculate about the extent of human abilities if only we could utilize our brain’s full capacity. In reality, this claim is 100 percent myth. We use all of our brain.
Why do firefighters have Dalmatians?
Dalmatians are perhaps best known for their role as fire-fighting apparatus escorts and firehouse mascots. Since Dalmatians and horses are very compatible, the dogs were easily trained to run in front of the carriages to help clear a path and quickly guide the horses and firefighters to the fires.
How many dreams does the average person have in one night?
The average person has about 3 to 5 dreams per night, but some may have up to 7 dreams in one night. The dreams tend to last longer as the night progresses. During a full 8-hour night sleep, two hours of it is spent dreaming. It is not at all unusual for a person to have more than one dream per night.
Who made the first cookie?
The chocolate chip cookie was invented by Ruth Graves Wakefield. She owned the Toll House Inn, in Whitman, Massachusetts, a very popular restaurant that featured home cooking in the 1930s. Her cookbook, Toll House Tried and True Recipes, was first published in 1936 by M. Barrows & Company, New York.

Smoke is particulate material suspended in a gas (air). The particulates may be very finely divided solids or aerosol particles composed of liquid materials. Smoke is neither solid or gas, it is a colloidal dispersion that is a different arrangement of matter.
