The girls and boys swimming and diving teams are back with brand new captains to inspire and lead the team.
The swimming and diving captains, Billy Glime, Mary O’Neill, and Sofija Raudins, continue to push themselves and strive to break school records throughout their final season.
By setting high personal goals and working hard, the upperclassmen lead by example for their younger team members.
“I want to go to states in the 100 breast, make the national cut in the 100 breast, and just break some records,” said Sofija Raudins.
The seniors are also leading by making the season fun and building strong team morale.
“I have been trying to use my energy and shift it throughout the team and spread the positive vibes and good energy,” said senior Billy Glime.
Many underclassmen look up to the juniors and seniors as role models and appreciate the support they get from everyone, despite the age gap.
“They are very encouraging and whenever you are about to give up, they push you past your limits,” said sophomore Leilah Shafer.
The girls and boys swim teams are about to kick off their season with a dual meet on Saturday, Dec. 1 at Perry High School.
