Kenston junior captain Tyler Mintz blasted a grand slam homerun in the bottom half of the 5th inning leading the Bombers to 10-2 victory over Warren Howland in a non-conference match-up at Kenston HS Varsity Field. In all, Kenston scored 7 runs in the 5th, aided by 2 hit-batters, 3 walks, and 1 hit, before Mintz’ laser shot over the left field wall. Kenston out-hit Howland 6-2 led by Bomber junior captain John Tomcufcik and freshmen Ryan Miller with 2 hits each. Mintz had 4 RBI, while Tomcufcik plated 2 runs for the Bombers. Howland’s 2 runs were both unearned. Bomber junior Corey Koller came in relief to pick-up his 1st win of the season. Howland starter Franlaglio picked up the loss for the Tigers. Kenston improves to 7-7 overall, while Howland drops to 1-5 for the season.
