Displaying special effects and extraordinary costumes never before seen at Kenston, “Seussical the Musical” is being performed on April 11-13 in the Robert A. Lee auditorium at the high school.
Mini trampolines, a giant turntable, and a roughly 15-foot feathery-sparkle-filled tail are just a few of the spectacles exhibited during “Seussical.”
The performance also features familiar faces such as Billy Glime as Horton the Elephant, Colin Montville as the Cat in the Hat, Julia Fugedy as Gertrude McFuzz, and Anna Snyder as Lazy Mayzie the Bird.
Freshman Nya Ku will be performing her debut role as a main character, JoJo, claiming her greatness early on in her theatrical career.
Anna Snyder said senior Alex Hubert, who plays featured role General Genghis Khan Schmitz, is “fantastic–he is just incredible and hilarious, so you have to come see the show”.
This colorful, eccentric show will not leave you disappointed according to Olivia Heysek, who plays a featured Birdgirl and said, “I’m having such a great time in this musical, never had so much fun with a show before.”
Audience members will be transported into the world of Dr. Seuss as they watch vibrant, lively stories of his popular characters unfold in the Jungle of Nool.
After about three months of rehearsal, the performers say they are more than ready for the stage and excited to carry out four shows for the public enjoyment.
