Kenston senior captain Blaise Gorski had a bases loaded/clearing double in the top half of the 8th inning leading Kenston to a wild 13-9 victory over Madison in WRC league play. The Blue Streaks tied the game in the bottom half of the 7th inning, with 3 walks, an error, and a 2-out, 2-run single off the bat of Nick Wardrop. The Bombers responded in the 8th with a lead-off single by freshmen Ryan Miller, a hard-hit single by junior John Tomcufcik, a hit-by-pitch by senior Craig Roch, before Gorski’s bases clearing blast. Kenston out-hit Madison 17-5 with senior Jason Vasil, R. Miller, and Tomcufcik leading the way with 3 hits apiece, while Roch, Gorski, and junior Chase King each logged 2 hits for the Bombers. Madison was led at the plate by Wardrop and TJ Davidson with 2 hits apiece. Wardrop plated 4 runs for Madison, while Gorski had 4 RBI and Mintz and Vasil each drove in 2 runs. Bomber junior Tyler Yurkovich picked-up his first win in relief, while Blue Streak reliever Jordan Turkall suffered the loss. Kenston improves to 3-6 overall and 1-1 in WRC play, while Madison drops to 2-3 and 0-2 in league play.
