@ Ripken Experience at Myrtle Beach, SC
Kenston finished up the spring trip to the Ripken Experience strong with solid 6-3 victory over Bloomington Central (IL) at Myrtle Beach, SC. The Bombers broke open a 2-2 game by scoring 4 runs in the bottom half of the 5th inning, keyed by 5 hits, including 2 big doubles by junior captains John Tomcufcik and Tyler Mintz. Kenston out-hit Bloomington Central 9-6, led by Mintz, senior Jason Vasil, and freshman Ryan Miller with 2 hits apiece. Bomber junior Corey Koller plated 2 runs for Kenston. Vasil started on the bump for the Kenston and picked up his first win of the year; Bloomington Central’s Weinrelo picked up the loss. Kenston improves to 2-4 on the season, while Bloomington South falls to 3-3 on the year. The Bombers head back north to Ohio and will begin WRC play Monday, April 1st at Riverside HS.
