Makeup Tips & Tricks

Looking for longer lashes but you don’t want to apply twenty coats of mascara which only results in clumps? Do you want to pay $30 for that expensive brand from Sephora that claims to make your lashes 10 times as long? I don’t think so. Here’s a tip that will save you time and money!
spoolie

Step 1: Get a spoolie and wet it with some water (make sure it’s damp but not soaking wet)
Step 2: Comb your eyelashes with the wet spoolie as if you were applying mascara
Step 3: Then apply mascara as normal while your lashes are still wet

Why this works: Since your lashes are wet, they won’t soak up as much of the mascara and in the end, making them longer; not clumpier.

**EXTRA TIP: If you use an eyelash curler, use it before applying anything to your lashes instead of curling afterward.

Makeup Tips & Tricks

Tired of your makeup not lasting all day? You spent two whole hours getting ready for an event, but your makeup will only look amazing for the next 30 minutes. Here are some tips that will keep your makeup from melting.

Tip #1: Before applying foundation or concealer, you need a base. A primer will keep your makeup from rubbing off or moving around throughout the time you’re wearing it. Primer also helps with hiding small imperfections such as large pores and discoloration of the skin. By using a base, your foundation will apply more smoothly and your skin will look flawless. Below are two drugstore primers and two high end primers.

Angel Veil ($16)  Master Prime ($10)  The POREfessional Face Primer ($32)  Photo Finish Primer ($36)

Tip #2: The key to making your eye shadow last all day and night, is using an eye shadow primer. Many people use concealer to prime their eyes instead of buying a separate eyelid primer. This is a good trick to save money, but if your eyelids tend to be more oily, concealer will not stay and neither will the eyes shadow on top of it. Below are two very good eye shadow primers.

MAC Pro Longwear Paint Pot ($22)   P. Louise Base ($12)

Tip #3: Once your makeup is complete, you need to set it. Setting spray will guarantee that your makeup will  stay in place all day and night. Setting spray locks in your finished product so all your work won’t go to waste. Below are highly rated setting sprays.

Morphe Continuous Setting Mist ($16)   Urban Decay All-Nighter ($32)   Model In A Model ($20)
