January was a very snowy month with snow days on the 4th, 5th, 8th, and 12th!
1st: The hockey team ended a 10 game series losing streak to Shaker Heights with a game winning goal in overtime. Read Article
6th: Kenston was awarded with The Momentum Award by the State Board of Education. Read Article
13th: Red Gerard, a 17 year old from Rocky River, Ohio, wins the first gold medal for the U.S. in the Olympics. Read Article
27th: The Kenston Lady Bombers made it farther in the playoffs than ever before by defeating Geneva to advance to the District Finals. Read Article
On March 2, 2018 the Kenston girls basketball team won the division I district final 45-44. Read Article

In the month of May, Kenston won two WRC championships which were from the boys tennis team and the boys track team. Speaking of championships, Robert Sunderhaft won the state trigonometry title on the 25th. Their were the senior nights for the spring sports this month including boys tennis on the 10th, girls lacrosse and boys baseball on the 12th, and softball on the 16th. On May 17th, the critically acclaimed art book Janus was released. The next day the spring athletic awards were held. On the 24th, the last day for students occurred.
8th: The Kenston Football team’s schedule is released. Read Article
28th: Kenston graduate Maggie Krause cleared 3.65 meters in a pole vaulting competition to put her one spot shy of the podium at ONU. Read Article
On July 1, 2017 basketball players from Greece played with our basketball team and also played NBA 2k17. Read Article
On July 13, 2017 the District board of education members approved a two-year, contract with Reid Guarnieri as their next athletic director, effective Aug. 1. Read Article

On August 17, as Kenston hosted the soccer game against its rival Chagrin Falls, the Bombers played in honor of former soccer player Jack Murphy’s mother, Lori Murphy, who passed away from breast cancer. View Photos
On August 24, during the football team’s game against Streetsboro, Sam Leygraaf became the youngest coach on the staff after tearing his ACL, View Photos

The week of September 21st was Spirit Week.
6th: The Kenston Football team improves to 7-0 with a 42-14 victory over Riverside. After the game, the phrase, “The Chase is on!” was quoted. Read Article
18th: Local Physician Dr. Alan Gurd dedicates his new fieldhouse to the Football team. He donated countless hours refurbishing the old bus garage. Read Article
24th: Girls Soccer team is crowned Conference Champions with a 2-0 victory over Madison. Read Article
On November 21, 2017 KHS had a food drive for the Bainbridge food for friends food pantry. Read Article
On November 16, 2017 Mr.Misenko became the new Girls basketball head coach. Read Article

On November 30, 2018, our Football Team won the State Championship for the first time in Kenston History.
On December 9, the Kenston High School Band and Choir hosted their annual Holiday Concert, View Photos and the Kenston football team was invited to the Browns football game. On December 17, the Bombers Football Team received awards for defeating the Kettering Archbishop Alter Knights, 42-6, in the Division III state championship game at Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium in Canton. On December 21, the students left school to enjoy their holiday break.
