Boston Wins the 2018 World Series
The Boston Red Soxs defeated the Los Angeles Dodgers on October 28th with a final score of 5-1. It is the second straight year the Dodgers have lost in the World Series, and the second straight year the winner has celebrated at Dodger Stadium. David Price threw his heart out in this series and especially in his Game 5 win. Steve Pearce won MVP of the World Series and he was the obvious pick after hitting a game tying home run in game 4 and two home runs in the clinching game 5. The city of Boston now has won 11 championships between all their teams in the 21st Century.

September 21st, 2018
As of today, September 21st, two teams have punched their ticket to the postseason. The Indians clinched their spot on September 15th and the Red Soxs clinched on September 20th.
Eight postseason spots still remain and in the AL West, the Houston Astros lead the Oakland Athletics by 3.5 games. The Astros’ magic number is 7 to clinch the division for the 2nd year in a row. The Atlanta Braves’ magic number is 4 to win at NL East crown. The Chicago Cubs’ magic number is 8 to clinch their division, but the Milwaukee Brewers are only 2.5 games behind, making the NL Central race very interesting. The same thing is going on in the NL West with the LA Dodgers’ magic number at 8 who are leading the Colorado Rockies by 2.5 games.
The AL Wild Card race looks to be over with the Yankees and Athletics holding the top two spots. The only race now is the race for home field advantage. The Yankees lead the Athletics by 1.5 games for home field advantage. The NL Wild Card race is still very interesting with the Milwaukee Brewers and St. Louis Cardinals holding the top two spots with Colorado and Arizona still in the hunt.
September 5th, 2018
The 2018 Major League Baseball season has entered September baseball. With 26 games left in the regular season, many teams are fighting to make a postseason appearance.
In the AL East, the Boston Red Soxs lead the way with a 8.5 game lead over the Yankees and they are the favorite to win their division. In the AL Central, the Indians hold a 14 game lead over the Twins and are sure to lock up their 3rd straight AL Central title. In the AL West, the Houston Astros hold a 2.5 game lead over the Athletics. If the Athletics could stun the Astros and win their division, it would be their first division title since 2013.
In the NL East, The Atlanta Braves are looking to return to the postseason for the first time since 2013 and with a 4 game lead over their divisional rival, the Philadelphia Phillies, they look to be in the clear for another postseason run. In the NL Central, the Chicago Cubs have a 4 game lead over the Milwaukee Brewers and Cubs fans are hoping their team can make it to, and win the World Series for the second time in three years. The NL West is just what you’d expect, with three teams in a close race to be atop their division at the end of September. The Dodgers, Rockies, and Diamondbacks all have the exact same record as of today and it’s sure to be one of the most exciting divisional races down the stretch.
