THURSDAY: Spring Athletic Awards:

Students and parents are welcome to attend the Spring Athletic Awards on Thursday, May 17th at 7 PM in the Main Gym.

TODAY:  Seniors turn in iPads

Seniors, on May 16th you will turn in your iPads with the blue case during homeroom in the LIBRARY (cord and charging brick are yours to keep). Things to do before iPad is turned in:

  1. Save and/or Back-up all Personal Content
  2. Sign out of iCloud (need Apple ID)
  3. In Settings: “Erase all Content and Settings’”

Questions:  see the “Senior Meeting” slides on the website for detailed steps on how to save or back up your personal content.

Underclassmen will turn in their iPads on Monday, May 21st.  There is no need to erase content since your iPad will be returned to you in the Fall.

TONIGHT: Softball Senior Night:

Come support the Softball Team for their rescheduled game on Wednesday, May 16th for SENIOR NIGHT! Game time is 4:30 PM and announcements begin directly before the game.

Kenston Academy:

It will be open its usual time the rest of the week, however, Kenston Academy’s last day for the school year will be NEXT Monday, May 21st.

Attention Cheerleaders!

Cheerleading tryouts will be during the week of May 14-18.  All sessions will run from 4:00pm to 7:00pm in the high school main gym.  All interested parties should contact the high school athletic department for more details.

FINAL EXAM SCHEDULE:  Wednesday 5/23 and Thursday 5/24

The Students will be expected to arrive to school by 7:45 AM each day and they must remain in school until the conclusion of their second exam.  Students will be permitted to leave school following their second exam at 12:15 PM.  For those students who choose to remain at school until regular dismissal at 2:15 PM, lunch will be served, followed by teacher-led Reviews and make-up sessions.  Regular transportation will be provided on both days as usual.

Media and Summit Law:

On June 14th, Ohio Univ and the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association are hosting a “Media and Law Summit.” Speakers will include reporters from the Washington Post, USA Today, and TV outlets. This is FREE for high school students, and they specifically want students from Kenston. Please see Mr. Novak in A-111 if interested in attending.

SUMMER ASSIGNMENTS:

There’s only a few more days of school, but don’t let your brain go on summer break just yet!  You may have summer assignments!

  • AP American Government in the fall:, please stop in room A210 to see Mrs. Smith and pick up your “pocket Constitution” AND summer packet.
  • AP French or French 4 next year: please stop in and get the summer reading list. Ne Stresse pas!–the books are in English.
  • AP US History next year: please stop in Guidance or Mrs. Wirthwein’s room to pick up your summer assignment.

Valley Art Center is looking for student volunteers to help with this year’s Art By The Falls. (Saturday, June 9, 10am-7pm & Sunday, June 10, 10am-5pm. Riverside Park, Chagrin Falls, OH (Right in the heart of downtown!) *Info subject to change without notice.) Lots of jobs/time slots available. 2018 Camp Canopy runs June 10-15 at Camp Muskingum near Carrollton. This co-ed residential camp is open to all high school students to learn more about Ohio’s forests, wildlife, conservation, tree identification, ecology and more. College scholarships to OSU, OU, Hocking College and OFA will be awarded to top scorers on the final exam at camp. Some sponsorships are available for students who might not be able to afford camp. ONLINE SUMMER SCHOOL

Information is now available in Guidance for SUMMER SCHOOL. Students who plan to take Health and PE through TRECA this summer, registration runs April 18 until 4:00 PM June 8.

The Bomber Hangar Presents a NEW Order Form and Spring Hours!

Kenston’s spirit wear store has reopened within KMS and new items have arrived — short sleeve shirts for the entire family, 1/4 zips for men and women, plus lightweight funnel neck hoodies for the on-trend Kenston ladies — all in a large range of sizes!

Hours throughout the end of the school year are:

Tuesdays: 2:00 – 4:00 pm

Fridays: 10:30 am – 1:00 pm

(May 22nd is the last day to shop!)

 

During school hours, shoppers must sign in at the KMS main office and will be directed to The Bomber Hangar’s location near the Betty Patton room. (Please be sure to have your driver’s license with you in order to be admitted to the building.)  After school hours, shoppers can access the retail store through the double doors at the back of the building (across from the stadium bleachers).  Look for the “Bomber Hangar” sandwich board sign outside those doors!

If you’re not able to visit The Bomber Hangar’s retail store, you can still shop through our SPRING ORDER FORM, featuring brand new items and a few great basics!  You are encouraged to contact Christine Riscili at 717-991-0973 with any product questions.  We are happy to help you select the correct sizes and explain features about each product!  Order forms and payment are due to the main office of your child’s building by Wednesday, April 18th.  Merchandise deliveries will be made by Friday, May 4th.

Our drawers already have things from this year– jewelry, planner, sweatshirts and more.  If you lost something that hasn’t been found yet, fill out a form so we can notify you when it’s found!
