Kenston HS senior Patrick Persichetti drove home pinch runner senior Michael Rockefeller in the bottom half of the 7th inning, leading the Bombers to a 8-7 victory over Riverside HS. The game was a home game for Kenston played at Riverside HS. Kenston rallied for 5 runs in the bottom half of the 6th inning, including 5 hits and 2 walks, to take a 1 run lead into the top half of the 7th inning. The Beavers were able to tie the game in the top half of the 7th, before the Bombers were able to manufacture the game winning run. The Bombers and Beavers each had 8 hits. The Beavers were led by Ethen Brown’s 3 hits. The Bombers were led by junior Craig Roch’s 2 hits. Riverside’s Andrew Keller drove in 2 runs, while Kenston’s juniors Jason Vasil and Roch each plated 2 runs apiece. Kenston senior Stephen Szczesniak picked-up his first win of the season in relief, while Riverside reliever Aaron Olech picked up the loss. Kenston improves to 5-3 overall and 2-0 in the WRC, while Riverside drops to 0-5 on the season and 0-2 in the conference.
