Student Ambassadors Represent Kenston at DCNEO Award Dinner

Last night (Thursday, November 30, 2017), six students from Kenston’s Unity Club represented our school as Student Ambassadors at The Diversity Center of Northeast Ohio’s 63rd Annual Humanitarian Award Dinner. Juan Rios and Pedro Michels represented our Cultures Without Borders Club (a subgroup of Unity Club) while Adrianne Tackitt, Audrey Oleskiewicz, Anna Ortner, and Halle Preneta represented our SAGA (Sexuality and Gender Acceptance) Club (another subgroup of Unity Club). They were accompanied by Mr. Gabram, who documented the event on Twitter.

63rd Annual Humanitarian Award Dinner at the Renaissance Hotel

At the beginning of the night, each student was tasked with holding a sign including either a quote or a statistic relevant to the goals of the Diversity Center while they greeted guests and honorees on their way to the Reception. After the Reception, they lined up in the hallway with the rest of the student ambassadors to clap and cheer while people filed into the Ball Room. Once the dinner was underway, the ambassadors were introduced and released into the Ball Room where they were tasked with speaking to anywhere between 1 and 3 tables of guests from businesses, universities, and banks, where they networked and built connections for themselves and our school. One student even earned an internship at the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame! The last table they visited is where they were seated for the rest of the evening, until the dinner ended at 9:00pm.
