Bombers fall to 2-3

After the 10-3 win at Solon, the Kenston Lacrosse Team was confident as could be. Just a day after that game they had to go back to work against a tough Division 1 program in Massillon Jackson. The Polar Bears have been a perennial power house in all sports. Pumping out all star athletes every year.

The Bombers defense held the Polar Bears to only one goal in the first half. The Bombers suffered many penalties and in turn they were a man down for a majority of the game. The Bombers were able to crawl back and tie it up at three. This game went down to the last minute, with Jackson scoring a man up goal with 1 minute and 30 seconds to go in the game. The score was now at 4-3 Jackson. The Bombers could not get a solid possession to set up for a shot. Even though it was a bad taste to swallow, the Bombers showed incredible toughness and effort on the field.

The Bombers then had to look to the next opponent in the Westlake Demons. Another Division 1 program that the Bombers have only beaten once in the past five years. It would be a similar story last night. The Bombers came out flat and continued throughout the game. The final score was 9-4. It is short lived in the game of lacrosse and the Bombers have to be focused for the next two contests in Toledo. The first on Friday against Toledo St. Johns and the second on Saturday against the state runner up Toledo St. Francis.

The Bombers traveled to Toledo to play some tough teams. On Friday the Bombers played St. Johns, a team that seemed to be a tough opponent but did not bother the bombers. The boys came out firing with five goals scored in the first quarter. That was the theme throughout the rest of the contest with the final score being 16-7, a great win for the Bombers. They then had to turn around quickly and play the Division 2 state runner up St. Francis. Unlike the night before the Bombers came out flat with no energy. St. Francis came out firing and never looked back. Another bad game for the Bombers but it is in the past and they have to look forward. The Bombers have two more contests before spring break. Tuesday they play Hoban at home JV at 5 and V at 7. Thursday they travel to Rocky River JV at 5 and V at 7.
