TODAY: There will be a CEC meeting during homeroom today! We are meeting in the English Computer Lab to discuss several new upcoming events.

TODAY: Please come to Spanish Club this Wednesday, Feb. 24, for a brief meeting. We will be discussing the fundraising project and signing up for the service project. The service project will involve teaching Spanish to students in the Intermediate Building.

TODAY: Lakeland Community College is hosting an Engineering Technologies Open House from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 24 in the E-building lower level. Discover careers in civil engineering technology and construction management, electronic engineering, mechanical engineering, network infrastructure engineering, nuclear engineering, industrial welding and computer integrated manufacturing technology. MONDAY: Attention all Girls who like to run, throw, or jump! There will be a GIRLS TRACK meeting on Monday, Feb 29th during HOMEROOM in A116 (Coach DiBernardo). Join the biggest social sports team and get in fabulous shape at the same time!

ATTENTION ALL ROYAL Wannabes: Geauga County Maple Festival’s Queen and King Contest. Applications can be found on the Maple Festival’s website at www.maplefestival.com. Contest is now open to freshman through seniors residing or attending school in Geauga County. Preliminary judging will be on Tappin Sunday, March 6th! This year has a first prize scholarship for the winning contestant as well as other prizes and perks! The Geauga Dept. on Aging is LOOKING FOR VOLUNTEERS to help senior citizens with spring clean-up beginning April 9. Flexible days, hours, location. Help rake yards or flower beds, weed, clean up yard debris or wash windows. Just a few hours will be a huge help to seniors who can no longer do these chores. Volunteers must register prior to volunteering. Registration forms are in the Guidance office. For more information, call 440-279-2129 or 440-279-2135.

THURSDAY: Joining the Bomberettes. Girls interested in joining need to attend the Student/Parent meeting on February 25th @ 7:00 pm in the KHS Cafe. Try-out packets are available in the KHS and KMS Main Offices.

The MAAK Scholarship application has arrived in Guidance. Seniors must be (or have been) a member of concert and/or marching band, chorus or the dance team. Deadline is March 18.

Pre-Vet Meet & Greet at Hiram College on Saturday, March 5 @ 1:00 p.m., for anyone interested in pre-veterinarian studies. Refreshments provided. RSVP by March 2nd to amports@hiram.edu.

Junior women exploring engineering are invited to a FREE daylong engineering event at Purdue University on April 11. Registrations are due by April 4 and limited capacity.

Due to several factors, it has been decided TO EXTEND THE DEADLINE FOR APPLICATION TO THE 2016 GEAUGA GROWTH PARTNERSHIP SUMMER INTERN PROGRAM. Interested students will have until February 26th to deliver their complete applications. They can be emailed to gklemencic@geaugagrowth.com or mailed to 12373 Kinsman Rd, Suite C-106, Newbury, Ohio. They must be received no later than Feb. 26th at 5 PM so they can arrange for the pre interviews.

The KHS Winter Dance has been RESCHEDULED for March 12th @ 7PM in the Gym.
