Due to several factors, it has been decided TO EXTEND THE DEADLINE FOR APPLICATION TO THE 2016 GEAUGA GROWTH PARTNERSHIP SUMMER INTERN PROGRAM. Interested students will have until February 26th to deliver their complete applications. They can be emailed to gklemencic@geaugagrowth.com or mailed to 12373 Kinsman Rd, Suite C-106, Newbury, Ohio. They must be received no later than Feb. 26th at 5 PM so they can arrange for the pre interviews.

The Girls Basketball Team beat Madison in the Division 1 District game last night 60-48! The Lady Bombers will play in Perry Monday night 2/22 for District Semi-finals. Come and support the team. Go BOMBERS!

Robotics Team TBD Takes Top Honors at State Competition and advances to Super Regionals
Kenston’s Barbora Ptakcova (grade 9) and her Team, TBD, competed at ispace on February 13 at the state competition. They were members of the winning alliance, which advances them to the Super Regionals in Cedar Rapids, Iowa in March. The team also won the top award, The Inspire Award. This is what the judges said about TBD; “This team showed strength in every area, with a finely constructed robot, impressive outreach, excellent engineering notebook and outstanding game play. They show gracious professionalism and really impressed the judges. Congratulations Barbora!

CALLING ALL BOMBERS: Michaela Barnes is in the running for the Ohio National Guard JJHuddle Ohio High School Athlete of the Week. You can vote as many times as you want. Let’s rally around Michaela with our votes. Voting ends on Monday, February 22 at noon. There is a link on our home page in the upper right corner.

The KHS Winter Dance has been RESCHEDULED for March 12th @ 7PM in the Gym.

THURSDAY: The Pulse Writing Club’s next meeting is Thursday, February 18th, in A113, from 2:30-3:15. All creative writers are welcome.

THURSDAY: Sophomores and juniors; Do you want to know what it is like to run your own business? Then attend an informational meeting about LAB – an exciting week long business program that is being held at Lake Erie College this summer. There will be a short informational meeting immediately after school on Thursday, February 18th or during homeroom on Monday, February 22nd in room C222. See Mr. Tripi for details.

Pre-Vet Meet & Greet at Hiram College on Saturday, March 5 @ 1:00 p.m., for anyone interested in pre-veterinarian studies. Refreshments provided. RSVP by March 2nd to amports@hiram.edu.

Juniors and Seniors- It’s time to start thinking about the annual Kenston After Prom Fashion show, which will be Friday, March 4. Get your groups and get ready! Sign-up in Guidance 2/4, 2/5, 2/11 and 2/12. Deadline is 2/17! The Fashion Show is a fundraiser for After Prom, so the Kenston PTO needs as many people as possible to make the show a success.

College Credit Plus—Grades 7-12:
Kenston High School will host the annual College Credit Plus Info Night on February 18 here at KHS.
ALL students interested in participating in College Credit Plus for the 2016-17 school year (taking high school and college courses at the same time) MUST attend Kenston’s info session – this includes those who are already in the program, those planning to take classes off-campus and those who plan to take CCP classes offered here at KHS. Mark the date on your calendar. One parent and the student must attend. There are several important changes for the coming year and intent forms must be signed and turned in by the MANDATED DEADLINE – March 18. See Guidance if you have questions.
