College Signing Day

On Wednesday, National Signing Day, three Kenston students signed their letters of intent to play college sports.  Jason Bernzweig signed to play soccer at Springfield College in Massachusetts.  Springfield is an NCAA division III school.  They compete in the Eastern College Athletic Conference.  CJ Maynard also signed to play soccer.  He signed with Ashland University in Ashland, Ohio.  Ashland is an NCAA division II school.  They compete in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.  Parker Gdula signed to play college football at The University of Findlay, in Ohio.  Findlay is an NCAA Division II school.  They compete in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.  Congratulations to all three athletes!

Jason Bernzweig – Springfield College (MA), Men’s Soccer

Springfield College is an NCAA Division III school that competes in the Eastern College Athletic Conference.

A 4 year letter varsity winner and 3 year starter, Jason capped off his Kenston High School career with his best season! Earning Honorable Mention Chagrin Valley Conference honors as a sophomore, he followed that performance up in his junior season by earning 2nd Team Chagrin Valley Conference honors and All-Greater Cleveland Honorable Mention honors. Lastly, in Jason’s senior season, he earned All-Western Reserve Conference honors as well as 2nd Team All-Greater Cleveland honors. Jason will have concluded his soccer career with a total of 40 points, 13 goals and 14 assists! Best of luck to you Jason with your future at Springfield College both on the pitch and off!

Parker Gdula – University of Findlay (OH), Football (Full Athletic Scholarship)

Findlay is an NCAA Division II school that competes in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.

A 3-year letter winner and 3-year starter at quarterback for the team.  As a sophomore, Parker threw for 1752 yards, a school record at that time, and led the team to the playoffs.  His Junior year he went on to shatter his own record and throw for over 2300 yards and 15 TDs, ending the regular season with a win over Aurora, A CVC Championship and a trip to the playoffs.  Parker was recognized as the CVC Offensive Player of the Year.  As a Senior, Parker threw for 1354 yards 10 TDs and ran for 870 yards and 7 TDs. earning him to the All Western Reserve Conference Honors. For a career Parker threw for 5434 yards and 39 TDs. He rushed for 1520 yards and 20 TDs. For his career he set school records in completions, yardage, and touchdowns.

CJ Maynard – Ashland University (OH), Men’s Soccer

Ashland University is an NCAA Division II school that competes in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.

A 3 year letter varsity letter winner and 2 year starter, CJ capped off his Kenston High School career in lavish fashion. Earning Honorable Mention Chagrin Valley Conference honors as a junior, he followed up that performance by earning 1st Team All-Greater Cleveland honors, All-Western Reserve Conference honors as well as Conference Player of the Year during his senior season. CJ will have concluded his soccer career with a total of 26 points, 8 goals and 10 assists! Best of luck to you CJ with your future at Ashland University both on the pitch and off!
