The Gurd Family Fieldhouse Dedication

Last night, The Gurd Family Fieldhouse was dedicated and opened to the community for viewing. We recognized and honored the outstanding partnerships and individuals who exemplify what it means to be a Bomber. We are grateful for their support, dedication and commitment to Kenston’s student-athletes.

The Gurd Family Fieldhouse celebrates our partnerships with our community and recognizes the traditions and legacy that continue to build Bomber Pride. This is exemplified by Dr. Alan Gurd’s three-decade association with our athletes, as their physician and advocate, and Dr. David Gurd’s work alongside his father.

The former Bus Garage, adjacent to the Stadium, was expanded, remodeled and transformed to become the home of the Kenston Football team containing team room, a college-style locker room and multi-sport athletic training facilities. The Fieldhouse is the culmination of the vision, planning and generosity of Kenston community members and local vendors who championed the project. We appreciate everyone who has touched this project in one way or another. You are contributing to the growth and future of this program. View a highlight video of the project and our Football team.

Kenston has come a long way since 1960 when Bomber Stadium was first opened. This year, we continue to make improvements with the replacement of the turf, the new digital scoreboard, addition of an equipment shed and now the opening of the Fieldhouse.

The Football team will be moving into The Gurd Family Fieldhouse over the weekend to start a new tradition by entering the field from the facility on Friday nights.
