It all began when Eric Hanst and his fellow sailors were Navy deployed overseas. When they were in port for a few days, they were greeted by an unexpected guest. “A cat came aboard via mooring line. We lost track of her, and found her later that evening. We managed to get her back to the pier, and waved goodbye as we took off. This cat seemed unusually upset by this,” said Hanst. After they docked, the kittens were transported to local veterinary services. “We managed to find homes for all three kittens. I talked a friend into adopting one of the kittens, the other two were taken in by my a ‘cat couple’ who are regular rescuers.” The soldiers rescued the kittens and the kittens gave them the companionship and love they needed during these long voyages. They both needed one another and it was a blessing that they found each other. (CNN)

11/29 CAT YOGA:

Typically, the Good Mews cat shelter  in Marietta, an Atlanta suburb, with its bright walls and white volunteer-scrubbed floors, is home to 100 or so cats who lounge and chase and bat at the odd toy, all while they wait for humans to come find them and give them a forever home.
Tonight, however, they are in for something special. Tonight, their home in the cage-free adult cat room transforms into a studio for the ultimate in challenging exercise fads. Classes have popped up on New York’s Lower East Side, in San Francisco, even in Des Moines and in Mobile, Alabama.  Tonight, it’s yoga with cats. (CNN)

Arthur the cat above had been missing for several days from his home in Bures near Sudbury.
“I was relieved when I heard him meowing early one morning, but my relief turned to horror when I found him half-way up the stairs dragging a rusty metal trap,”(As shown above in the the bottom right corner) owner Gemma Harris said. This poor kitty dragged himself home with a metal trap on his leg and is among six animals shortlisted for a “pet survivor” award.
Ginger tom Arthur, from Suffolk, eventually gnawed through string on the illegal trap after being stuck for days.
“His claws were gone and his teeth were damaged.”His vet, who initially was not sure Arthur was strong enough for surgery, said he had “bounded back” from his “horrific injuries”. (BBC NEWS)

“The cat first appeared at the window of the Knightsbridge building wearing a plain collar as the world’s media arrived to report on the interview.
After keeping watch on the crowd outside, the animal left the window and later returned apparently dressed up for the reporters.”
This fur-iendly cat even has his own twitter account @EmbassyCat. (Evening Standard)

Unfortunately, there hasn’t been any paw-some cat news lately, so here’s a hiss-terical picture that will get you feline purr-ty happy!

11/11 CAT OR DOG?

Is is a cat, or is it a dog?
“Atchoum, as you may have figured out, is a cat — a 2-year-old Persian who belongs to Nathalie, a pet groomer in Quebec. He has a rare condition called hypertricosis, also known as “werewolf syndrome,” which accounts for his wild and crazy hair growth, thicker-than-normal claws, and perhaps the species confusion some feel upon looking at his photos.”(C-net)

“If you follow cats on social media, here’s some new blood. Meet Monkey, a feline with fangs who has stolen Instagram’s heart. The 6-year-old cat has over 24,000 followers on the photo-sharing site, and a single picture of him can receive anywhere between 1,000 and 13,000 likes.”(Huffington Post)

“Tammaso inherited a property empire worth £11million

Tammaso, a stray, was found in the streets of Rome by Maria Assunta, claimed by her owner who soon died in 2011.  This purr-fect cat inherited a property empire worth £11 million(Close to 100,000 American Dollars). Now that’s one lucky purr-ince!!

The cat’s trustee is a nurse, known only as Stefania, who the owner befriended in a park. Stefania said: “I promised her that I would look after the cat. I never imagined that she had this sort of wealth.”(Mirror Online)

I’m not kitten you, this is fur-real the world’s fattest cat at 38.8 lbs.!! That’s the same size as a three year old boy, now that’s purr-iceless.
