Leaping Into Math invades Timmons!
It was all smiles Tuesday as students at Timmons Leaped into Math with both feet as part of a Kenston High School Math Club sponsored activity designed to promote mathematics for the elementary students. Students were measured in the standing broad jump as part of a data collection process for future curricular assignments. Timed to correspond with the highly successful Timmons PTO Math-A-Thon, the Kenston Math Club assisted in collecting the data and is sponsoring prizes for the class that leapt the farthest for each grade level. The collaborative effort is an opportunity for the Timmons students to interact with positive role models who take pride in their math abilities and are willing to share their talents and energies with their younger counterparts. The data collected will be used in curricular appropriate activities at each grade level, further engaging the students with calculations and discoveries based on data that represents their own efforts.
