School bus drivers throughout Ohio participate in regional road-e-o competitions each Spring, designed to test and increase their operational and safety skills. Top participants at each regional road-e-o move on to compete at the state-level competition. Participants who score 80 percent or more of the total possible points at a regional or state competition may use that event toward their six-year recertification.
Kenston drivers, Roger Rodhe, Linda Murphy, Mellony Salsgiver and David Staudenbauer, placed second out of 66 teams. Individuals placing in the top 10 were: Mellony Salsgiver – 3rd place; Chrissy Quigley – 5th place and Kaylee Clayman – 9th place.
The top six drivers at each regional qualify to compete at the state road-e-o, which was held May 6th. Winners from the state go on to an international event in July.
