KHS Art teacher completes CIA Summer Residency

Kenston High School art teacher, Andie Quinn was selected to participate in the Cleveland Institute of Art 2016 Summer Teacher Residency program.  The goal of the program was to help educators achieve personal and artistic growth, while strengthening their curriculum for students in the classroom.  As part of the application process residents submitted art work proposals and sketches of a piece of artwork they wish to create while in the program.  The program required residents to commit to staying overnight in the dorms of Case Western Reserve University for a week.  Educators had to let go of their regular routine and dive into a creative and competitive artistic, studio environment.   An exciting result of this experience was the opportunity for Mrs. Quinn to display her work in a selective CIA exhibit for 2 weeks in July.   Her work was then selected for the 2016 State of the Arts exhibition at the Ohio University Art Gallery.
